We need to update our previous announcement on hazardous cargo restrictions. We can no longer accept LCL hazardous cargo to Dalian. We also have learned of new restrictions on classes 4.2 and 4.3 to or via Singapore. While many ports continue to accept containers with hazardous cargo, heavy restrictions have been placed on the warehouses that unload LCL containers within these port areas. Governments have enforced strict regulations and inspections at these facilities. In some cases the local officials have prohibited them from accepting anything hazardous, while others have been allowed to accept only certain types (classes) of hazardous cargo.
As conditions have been constantly changing, our intention is to keep you informed with the most current information as it relates to which destination warehouses are still accepting hazardous cargo as well as their hazardous class limitations.
Below is a summary of what is currently prohibited as LCL at each destination:
Prohibited as LCL
China*
Shanghai: Classes 1, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.1, 5.2, 6.1, 6.2 & 7
Hong Kong: Classes 1, 2.3, 6.2 & 7
Ningbo, Qingdo, Tianjin, Xingang, Dalian, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Huangpu, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Jianmen, Shunde: All hazmat is prohibited
Singapore (to or via): PSA 1, classes 1, 2.3, 4.2, 4.3, 6.2 & 7 and UN1744, UN2023
*Hong Kong may be an alternative port for cargo destined for China, if your hazardous commodity falls into one of the prohibited classes in Shanghai. As several ports still accept many hazardous classes with less restriction when cargo is moving as an FCL, please let us know if we can assist you in transporting your shipment as an FCL as an alternative to LCL.
We will continue to update you with any changes and we thank you for your continued support!
